Giving Feedback

Many unsuccessful applicants request and find it beneficial to receive feedback on their application and/or interview.  The Panel Coordinator is responsible for providing or organising another panel member to provide feedback in a timely manner on request.  It is critical that feedback is provided as soon as possible as the applicant may wish to use this information in further application and interview processes.  Feedback must only be provided in relation to the selection criteria.  Panel Coordinators will be contacted by Human Resources if an applicant requests feedback.

Feedback is aimed at providing constructive guidance to the candidate in relation to career plans and means of improving their prospects for advancement where appropriate.  Reference may be made to reasons for the panel decision not to shortlist or appoint.  However, the confidentiality of individual panel members' decisions is to be maintained.  Focus should therefore be directed towards the relative strengths and weaknesses of the application against the field.
