The USQ Youth Leadership Day is an annual event that brings together school leaders from a range of USQ partner schools. The event is an opportunity for school leaders to be inspired by a range of quality guest speakers and for students to develop practical leadership skills.
Our 2012 keynote speaker, Alissa Phillips, will return in 2013 due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback we received from participants this year.
Alissa is an amazing role model on so many levels. Originally from Brisbane, and with a background in music therapy, Alissa was a state finalist in the 2010 Young Australian of the Year awards due to her work establishing s.p.a.c.e, an independent community centre that supports social inclusion, particularly for people with special needs. Alissa currently works for the Foundation for Young Australians, where she has successfully applied creative solutions to a range of inclusive community projects.
The event program and registration details can be downloaded from the 2013 USQ Youth Leadership Day Kit (PDF* 587 KB).
