|Chief Financial Officer|
The key objective of the role of the Chief Financial Officer is to contribute to managing USQ’s commercial and financial risk so as to ensure that the University has available to it at all times the financial resources to support optimally its mission of teaching, learning, research and engagement whilst meeting its compliance and reporting requirements fully and efficiently.
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the operations of the Financial and Business Services unit and is a member of the Enterprise Services portfolio.
Before joining USQ as its Chief Financial Officer in 2012, Athol was the Director of Corporate Services at the Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE responsible for the provision of high-level leadership to the development and implementation of Institute’s goals and vision through effective strategic, business and financial planning. Athol progressed into this role following his initial appointment as the Director of Financial Services for the Institute.
Athol is a graduate of the University of Southern Queensland and his career has included a range of experiences within Commonwealth, State and Local Government entities.
