Helen Nolan, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Services), leads the Student Services Division at the University of Southern Queensland.
The PVC (Student Services) is responsible for providing vision and leadership for the non-academic components of the student journey and student experience. The functionality of the division supports the overall university student life cycle, by marketing to students through innovative approaches, supporting students both academically and holistically, and provide interactive and representative opportunities for students outside of their studies.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Services) is responsible for facilitating and supporting consistent delivery of USQ’s branded service model, enhancing the student experience and building University relationships with its potential, current and alumni student communities, both domestically and internationally, to ensure strong and positive graduate outcomes.
The Student Services Division is comprised of the following portfolios: Marketing and Student Attraction, Student and Administrative Support, Student Life, Student Success and Wellbeing and Student Support and Retention.
Helen commenced at USQ in December 2011 as the Director (Recruitment and Admissions, Domestic Marketing). Following a restructure, Helen was appointed Executive Director (Marketing & Student Attraction) in July 2012. Prior to her commencement at the University, Helen was the National Marketing Operations Manager for Defence Force Recruiting, one of the world’s largest recruitment process outsourced models. In this capacity, Helen was responsible for the operational management, governance and campaign development of innovative marketing recruitment campaigns. During her time at Defence Force Recruiting, Helen was tasked with the development of a strategic initiative around national recruiting priorities in the areas of health, engineering and trades.
Helen is a graduate of the University of Southern Queensland. Her career includes a range of experiences within the service sector including Defence Force Recruiting (public-private collaboration of the one of the largest and most complex recruitment process outsourcing programs in the world) and various roles within banking sector.
