From electrician to engineer, Andrew Atkinson graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) with the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) possible of 7.
‘After working as an electrician for 8 years, I realised I wasn’t being sufficiently challenged. I wanted to use math and sciences more, which I had enjoyed at school. Electrical engineering at USQ ticked these boxes and was a logical progression for me.’
‘USQ helped me with my career change by offering the flexibility of external part time study so I could study and continue working. When I decided I wanted to increase my study load, it was simple to enrol full time. Flexible study is one of USQ’s greatest strengths.’
‘My future plans are to attain Chartered status with Engineers Australia and RPEQ certification. If I decide to complete any further studies later in life, I know USQ will be there to help me achieve these goals.’
