Words and phrases before the head noun
Possessive
- To show who or what the noun belongs to, you can use the possessive adjective my, our, your, his, her, its, or their in front of any type of noun:
Our family is very close
Their children are very well-behaved.
- NOTE: You cannot use an article, demonstrative and possessive together. Choose one only:
* the my glasses (correct: my glasses/the glasses)
* his that desk (correct: his desk / that desk)
