Critical reading
Critical reading
Critical reading involves comprehension, analysis and evaluation. First summarise the text in your own words and then consider:
- author’s position
- tone
- persuasive techniques
- intended audience
- evidence provided
- relevance of examples
- opposing arguments
- alternative conclusions
- connections/differences to other texts
- is anything missing?
To do
- Critical reading activity (UOW, Unilearning)
