Noun clauses

To make your writing more interesting and add information, you can use a dependent clause. A noun clause is a dependent clause that does the work of a noun.

  • It can be either the subject (S) or the object (O) of a verb (V).

He (S) realised (V) that he was late (O).

  • It starts with conjunctions like what, where, that, who.

What they do at the club (S) is (V) interesting.
