AWARE: Academic Warning and Reflection Exercise


An academic reflection exercise to assist students improve their academic performance.

  • Reflect on the reasons why you are not doing as well as you would like.
  • Increase your awareness about specific areas of concern.
  • Make some decisions about what to do and how to do it.
  • Provide you with ready access to relevant university resources and services.
  • Develop an action plan for future study.
  • Provide you with documentary evidence of your actions (if required).

Who is it for?

AWARE is for all USQ undergraduate and postgraduate course work students who want to improve their academic performance.

Process to follow

  1. Access the AWARE questionnaire and respond to each of the statements that appear on the online questionnaire. You will need your USQ login. At the end of the questionnaire, you will be asked to identify your areas of concern.
  2. AWARE will then provide information on how you will be able to address the concerns you have identified.
  3. List the actions that you will take to relieve each of your chosen concerns.
  4. Print your personalised study action plan.
  5. Close the browser to logout of UConnect.
  6. Schedule an appointment with a staff member (e.g. Student Relationship Officer, Learning Centre Advisor, Course Lecturer) to discuss your plan.
  7. Express your views on this process through the online evaluation (USQ login required).
