The Bachelor of Education Secondary is built around a developmental trajectory for pre-service educators in this program. The developmental nature of courses are organised around the need for students to move from an emerging understanding of the role of the teacher to a consolidated identity as a reflexive practitioner. The Developmental Trajectory is as follows:
- Year 1: Emerging/developing understanding teaching, learning and the role of the teacher
- Year 2: Developing an understanding of curriculum and pedagogy
- Year 3: Expanding understanding of discipline specific curriculum and pedagogy
- Year 4: Consolidating teacher identity and reflective practitioner.
