UniSQ Academic dress

Winter 2024 graduation ceremony academic dress (PDF616KB) is slightly different to official UniSQ academic dress. Your AUD150 Ceremony Fee includes the loan of academic dress, and a gifted mortarboard/Doctoral bonnet.

We encourage you to wear smart attire rather than casual clothing or casual footwear (thongs or sneakers) to your ceremony. Academic dress can be quite warm, so keep this in mind when selecting the most appropriate clothing for the day.

The following conditions also apply to your loaned academic dress:

academic dress cannot be removed from the graduation ceremony venue
academic dress must be returned within an hour of the conclusion of the graduation ceremony
a charge for cleaning will be applied if the gown is returned in a soiled condition
academic dress not returned will incur a fee for the full replacement value

Supplying your own gowning for your graduation ceremony is not required, and does not alter the AUD150 Ceremony Fee.

While the University does not sell academic dress, you may wish to purchase your own from our supplier P.Blashki and Sons Pty Ltd. Remember, if you are attending your own ceremony, you will be 'gifted' a mortarboard/Doctoral bonnet, so please do not purchase these.

Ensure you allow sufficient time for gowning to be manufactured and shipped i.e. 2 months, especially if you are purchasing for your graduation ceremony.
