Evidence-based training courses authored by Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Australia and delivered by accredited MHFA instructors are offered for FREE to enrolled USQ students through a Student Amenities Fee funded project. This course is Phoenix Award eligible.
The Online Blended version of the MHFA course has three components and ALL need to be completed in order to gain certification.
- eLearning – Requires 6-8 hours of self-paced, online modules.
- Webinar A: Wednesday 29 September 2020, 10.00 am - 12.30 pm
- Webinar B: Wednesday 30 September 2020, 10.00 am - 12.30 pm
Both webinars need to be attended and you will be sent a link to the eLearning modules and the zoom links separately.
MHFA training teaches how to approach and assist an adult who may be developing a mental health problem, or experiencing a mental health crisis, using a practical, evidence based, action plan. Only an Online Blended MHFA course is offered through USQ currently. The Online Blended course covers the same content as the previously offered Standard MHFA, however case scenarios are based within tertiary settings and there is additional content on Non-Suicidal Self Injury and Eating Disorders.
