USQ launched iconnect in Semester 1 2020 at USQ Toowoomba. Designed as a centralised support space in partnership with students, iconnect enhances the services we offer to students and is the main information hub for students.
Student ideas have provided the foundation for a collaborative and digitally-supported space where students can access knowledge and services from across the University. The design of iconnect will continually evolve in response to student feedback and ideas so that we can continue to satisfy our students’ needs.
How can iconnect support me online?
With study now online for all USQ students, we've moved iconnect online to support you.
Connect with us through Zoom
We're offering you access to a designated iconnect Zoom meeting room where you'll be greeted by one of our student concierges who will be able to help answer your questions or connect you with the right staff member.
You can access the service, Monday to Thursday from 8am - 8pm, Fridays from 8am - 5pm and on weekends from 12pm - 5pm.
USQ iconnect - our new online Facebook community
You're invited to join our new online Facebook community USQ iconnect, created especially for our students.
USQ iconnect is a platform where you can interact with your peers, ask questions about study, share advice, celebrate wins, tackle challenges and support other students. Our concierges will be online helping to answer your questions and sharing advice based on their experience as USQ students.
We’re all about creating a safe and supportive online community and have created our Community Guidelines to make sure everyone knows what to expect.
To be a part of the group, all you need to do is go to www.facebook.com/groups/usqiconnect, hit ‘Join group’ and answer two easy questions so we know you're a USQ student.
Where can I find iconnect on-campus?
Our physical iconnect space is temporarily closed in line with Government advice, however you can usually find our temporary space at USQ Toowoomba in the south east corner of the Refectory while our permanent site is being built.
The support service will be extended to our Ipswich and Springfield campuses and serve our online cohort following the establishment of iconnect at the Toowoomba campus.
What are the advantages of iconnect?
iconnect will provide students with:
- a centralised service
- simple referrals
- opportunities to connect with academics
- opportunities to provide feedback
- peer support
- extended opening hours.
USQ students will become our first tier of support, employed as service concierges. These roles will be responsible for answering queries, giving advice, and providing proactive and responsive front line service. Complex queries will be referred to specialists for rapid resolution.
How do I become an iconnect concierge?
Given the current circumstances, we've paused our recruitment.
