A few words from Daniel Butterworth…
“From a very young age I was introduced to creativity and its importance. My Dad is a sculptor and we frequented the National Gallery Victoria. I remember running to see Rembrandt’s self-portrait, I still can’t verbalise the feeling I had standing in front of the work, and this had a huge influence on my work. Later on I discovered artists such as Freud, Seville and Shirenberg. Now I enjoy the challenge of representing the figure and flesh through paint and capturing a personality that at times can be more than reproducing a photograph in paint.”
