In consultation, guided learning and practise, you will find your next level of practice at the potter’s wheel. Projects will be individualised for each participant with respect to your skill level and interest. There will be an emphasis on effective processes of design and making, the making of multiples, the aesthetic interplay of form and function in the potent expressiveness of clay.
The workshop will include demonstrations of the making of large bowls as well as tall forms using throwing and coiling techniques utilising a handheld gas burner.
A selection of your work will be glazed and fired during the workshop. This will include discussion of glaze and firing technology specific to the motivated design and aesthetic purpose of each participant.
