In this workshop you will make prints from your own designs, stepping through the process to finished prints with the simple, eco-friendly tools and techniques from Japan. From complete beginners to professional artists, anyone can learn and use this technique. You will make multi-colour, multi-block woodblock prints learning the techniques and tools as used by Japan’s mokuhanga artists and craftspeople.
Mokuhanga is endlessly versatile, environmentally friendly, uses no toxic inks or solvents, has simple tools and materials and is inherently beautiful. There is no need for an expensive press or a lot of space. Work from your own home once you know the technique.

Terry has a Masters Degree in Fine Arts as well as many years experience tutoring art media to people of all abilities and walks of life. Trained in Kyoto, Japan, he is a certified and experienced teacher of mokuhanga. His work has been exhibited and sold in Kyoto, Tokyo, New York, Australia and New Zealand. He has held numerous solo and group exhibitions since 1996.
