In this workshop participants will explore the versatile printmaking technique of Solarplate using intaglio and relief printing processes. This plate was first used by artists in the 1970’s and is today hugely popular worldwide.
It is a safer way to work using the sun and UV exposure unit to prepare plates with water washout.
Students will learn to prepare artwork, expose and develop plates using a variety of techniques including photographic imagery and explore the possibilities of printing by hand inking and using the studio etching presses.
This workshop is suitable for beginners through to the more experienced printmakers.
