The Wonder of Watercolour
Learn from one of Australia's most prolific and versatile artists. Watercolour is often regarded as just too hard and misunderstood.
During this workshop Greg will demystify watercolour. It can be all things to all people, at first Greg will help you to understand its chemistry in order to tame it to paint realistically - or unleash it - to paint impressionistically or emotionally. Greg will start with realism by painting a small number of controlled landscapes and seascapes, with lectures and demonstrations aiding the methodologies.
Towards the end of the week as you loosen up, you will paint freer and more liberally using stronger colour and black inks. You will paint a mix of subjects such as animals and people. You will eventually finish with images and ideas that suggest a contemporary, modern approach to watercolour. This workshop will be like a box of mixed chocolates- you get to taste all possibilities!
