Wheel-throwing Workshop with David Usher (Postponed)

USQ Toowoomba Campus - A Block

This workshop will be run over four consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6 pm – 8 pm. Over the course of the four week program, the classes will involve:

  • Introduction to basic wheel-throwing techniques Including understanding the principles of centering, compression, coning, and identifying and resolving form
  • Introduction to basic turning techniques Including the preparation of chucks, the type of tools required for turning, and the correct approach to turning specific forms
  • Exploring surface decoration techniques and glazing techniques
  • Understanding the basics of firing kilns (e.g. bisque firing and gloss firing)
