About the Workshop

Learn an easy way to paint the impossible!

See and experience how you can recreate the beautiful softness of colours and tones depicting sky and tree reflections, undulations, tinted coloured water showing natural elements of the sand in shallow water.

Adding water component to your landscapes will enhance your compositions by adding life to your paintings.  Water is fluid, shape-shifting, perpetually in motion, reflective, cooling and refreshing.  During this workshop, different techniques will be applied each day resulting in beautiful realistic representations of water.

Learn a quick and easy way to paint water, both still or in motion.  Save yourself hours of experimentation and research by following Marcel Desbiens' quick step-by-step demonstration process and achieve instant results.  Plenty of 'hands on' exercises will give you the opportunity to create those realistic effects with oils.  You will learn to reproduce this transparent effect using a layering technique on a coloured background with the Alla prima method, and the layering and glazing method.  The right choice of medium, opaque and transparent colours and brushes will make the process a breeze!
