Element 4 Workplace health and safety procedures
To ensure quality and compliance with relevant legislation, the conduct of workplace health and safety at USQ is governed by specific directions detailed in the Workplace Health and Safety Procedures.
Specific issues that are not covered by the procedures should be brought to the attention of the safety and wellbeing team so a procedure can be considered for development.
The Workplace Health and Safety Procedures Manual
The Workplace Health and Safety Procedures have been developed to assist and protect employees at the University of Southern Queensland. The Work Health and Safety Policy, approved by the Council of the University can also be found in the USQ Policy Library.
These procedures have been developed by the University's Human Resources department, in consultation with a range of employees and members of the University Safety Committee. The policy and procedures reflect the requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld).
USQ Work method statement
A USQ work method statement is required to be completed for all activities with a residual risk of moderate or higher, all construction activity and tasks nominated in the Workplace Health and Safety Procedures.
