Element 7 Injury and illness management

Introduction

Element 7 Injury and illness management, does not deal with the actual incident or the immediate after effect including reporting. This element deals with the issues following first aid or initial treatment by a medical practitioner.

Relevant policies and procedures

The Workplace Health and Safety Procedures includes procedures that deal with injury and illness management. These include:

Sick leave

Procedures for sick leave are detailed in the Human Resources Policies and Procedures in the Leave of Absence Procedure.

Employee assistance program

USQ provides an employee assistance program for USQ employees and their families. This program has been developed by an external consultant, Assure EAP,  which provides a traditional counselling service (EAP) as well as an online resource centre. This service provides professional advice, counselling, and referral services to assist with personal or work-related issues that may be affecting your health and/or job performance.

 

There services are provided free of charge by the University and are completely confidential.
