BEN

BACHELOR OF NURSING

TODAY, PARAMEDIC AND TRAINEE NURSE.
TOMORROW, BIG OPPORTUNITIES.

After studying Paramedicine at another university and starting work as a paramedic for a private company, I realised it was not the career path I was after. Feeling personally incomplete, I made my wisest decision to date and applied to study Nursing at the number one program in Queensland, at USQ Ipswich.

For me studying at USQ was about gaining invaluable opportunities, experience and having the backing of an industry recognised institution.

As well as having the latest equipment and resource materials, USQ has a real emphasis on caring about its students. My lecturers are approachable, supportive and very responsive. They are more student focused and determined to help me achieve my own goals. Knowing that you have genuine support really gives you the confidence and courage to persevere.

Each day I’m learning more about the type of clinician I want to be thanks to the interactive staff, diverse cohort and the fact that practical experience makes up 50% of my degree. I’m excited about the opportunity to move into an area where I can continue to grow personally and professionally and provide better more holistic care to my community.

My goal is to ultimately work in rural aeromedical medicine and I feel USQ more than any other uni can prepare and assist me in reaching this goal.
