The DiReCt (Digital Resources Collection) course resource management system provides online access to course readings and other resources. The system manages online access, security, storage and copyright of course readings and resources.
Course readings (DiReCt)
DiReCt contains a variety of collections including:
- Course Resources Collection - contains course readings
- Software Collection - provides access to downloadable software, particularly EndNote.
Readings which can be added to DiReCt include:
- digitised copies of readings
- readings hosted on external websites
- Library online journals and eBooks.
For course readings to appear in the Course Readings - DiReCt list on StudyDesk, they should be added to DiReCt. If readings are accessed on StudyDesk from links throughout the Course Activity page, they should be stored in eLOR.
DiReCt will also house digital objects with restrictive copyright permissions. Due to copyright regulations, you cannot house the same readings in both DiReCt and eLOR.
Email the list of readings to: direct@usq.edu.au
Ensure you include the following:
- complete citation (including URL for online resources)
- course code
- reading numbers (if applicable)
- semester and year to be hosted
- course examiner's name (if not you)
If you wish to include a digital copy of the resource, please indicate the origin of the file (copies should comply with copyright legislation). See the Library copyright information.
