The University will open its doors to more than a thousand prospective students on Sunday (August 13), encouraging them to change their world by spending a few hours in ours.
Open Day is an opportunity to help people shape their future, whether considering life after high school or non-school leavers pondering the next step in their career journey.
USQ is proud to host Li Cunxin whose own remarkable ‘Fearless’ story is known to many people worldwide thanks to his best-selling autobiography, Mao’s Last Dancer.
The day will feature information sessions on scholarships, support services and online study demonstrations, campus tours and ‘Future Talks’ which explore different career paths.
Other highlights of the day include a Creative Arts showcase; ‘Hands-on Health’ (nurses and scientists in action as they deal with a life-threatening situation); ‘Engineering USQ innovations’; ‘Eyes towards the Sun’ (unique daytime viewing of the Sun with expert astronomers); and ‘Ready for take-off’ ( Air Force Simulator Experience).
Open Day will also host the 2017 USQ Secondary Schools Moot Competition Final between Toowoomba Grammar School and Hillbrook Anglican School. Organised by the School of Law and Justice, the competition broadens the knowledge and experience of law for Year 11 and 12 secondary students.
