Ready for McGregor Summer School

Easels, clay wheels, paint brushes, musical equipment and other creative supplies stand ready for the return of the popular McGregor Summer Retreat at USQ.

Students from the age of 12 to 90 from across the country will learn music and visual and creative arts at the 52nd Retreat which starts on Sunday (January 12).

About 300 people will participate in the annual event for the opportunity to engage in short-term learning from some of Australia’s most prolific artists and musicians.

McGregor Arts Retreat is the longest running visual arts and music retreat in Australia and offers a range of workshops to suit all levels.

Included in the illustrious list of tutorage is USQ alumnus and renowned artist David Hinchliffe as well as fellow graduates Ayden Roberts (music), Nic Plowman (contemporary art) and Anthony Brink (ceramics).

In addition to the workshops, a number of events are open to the public to showcase the talents of students and artists.
