This research explores ways to understand the process of transition from Enrolled Nurse (EEN) or Internationally Educated Nurse (IEN) to Registered Nurse (RN) with a focus on the psychological and social processes of professional transition. This project will use a qualitative grounded theory approach to obtain data on and interpret the prospective transition process from EEN/IEN to RN from the decision to undertake RN studies to one year post graduation. This project is intended to provide insights for education providers to further support the EEN/IEN through discovering the challenges and in understanding the social processes that unfold. Data analysis and the future recommendations based on this data will seek to improve the psychological and social processes experienced throughout transition.
