Professor Takeshi Maki is a Professor at the Structural Material Laboratory at Saitama University, Japan. The Structural Material Laboratory is one of the oldest laboratories in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of Saitama University. This laboratory is involved in a wide range of research activities including externally prestressed concrete structures, steel-concrete composite connections, soil-structure interaction, simulation and properties of fresh concrete, strengthening and retrofitting of existing concrete structures, and application of advanced composite materials in infrastructure construction and rehabilitation. This presentation will highlight the current research activities in this area with the aim of exploring research collaboration with USQ researchers.
