The Australian Curriculum: Technologies claims that students develop project management skills. However, there is no evidence of a structured project management learning system suitable for primary school children. The objectives of this research are to compare project management standards in order to extract core competencies needed to successfully manage projects, examine project management competencies of primary school children, and develop a framework that supports the learning of these competencies. This research offers a significant contribution to the education sector, research literature, industry practice, the wider community and children's lives in general. An exploratory case study will be conducted at an Australian primary school. Research limitations include researcher bias, lack of generalisability and the availability of teachers and industry experts.
