The aim of this study is to develop and propose a practical numerical scheme for modelling shear behaviour of the cable bolts. For this purpose, after conduction of a comprehensive literature review spanning from early pioneering works to contemporary studies, a new testing apparatus is designed and utilized to model the effect of inclination angle on shear resistance of the jointed rock with various cable types and pretension load. Later, based on the data at hand, numerical modelling is undertaken. In the end, contributions in term of in-angle experimental data alongside of a numerical approach for modelling shear behaviour of cables are expected.
