The world has entered a phase of high innovative growth in the areas of data collection, analysis and management within the field of Asset Management. Asset owners are actively involved in this fast paced time, where new technology is quickly evolving. Data collection and analysis now can be undertaken through the use of new technology (such as UAT/drones), or the use of machine vision learning. Condition analysis is being undertaken through high end computers, and maintenance processes are evolving through the use of new treatment options. 
This research seeks to understand the impacts this emerging technology has on asset owners and asset managers, and the impacts these changes may have on their asset management practices and own competency requirements.
