Clinicians are confronted with ensuring the best possible psychological assessment within the constraints of time, resources, and client capabilities, yet there is no method available to determine what needs to be tested and how to achieve this. This research aims to improve the understanding of designing efficient test batteries without sacrificing clinically significant information about a person’s functioning by consolidating the evidence for best practice principles into a methodology that can be applied in clinical practice. A methodology will be developed for designing test batteries that capture the most clinically significant information in a time and cost-effective manner. The methodology will then be examined to establish its effectiveness in three different clinical contexts with people across the lifespan.
