A practice based research study exploring the contribution of design (tools) for their possible prospective future focus contribution to strategy-as-practice (SAP) (Whittington, 1996), in the creation of strategy. The researcher’s practice as a Design Strategist working closely as a consultant to university, government and enterprise shaping strategy using prospective design (tools), will situate the research at the intersection of historical management studies and its more contemporary interrelationship with social and practice based research, in particular the researcher’s practice in design seeking to explore the question: Design! Strategy. Influence? Investigating how design tools contribute to the creation of contemporary enterprise strategy.
