My doctoral project will investigate the acquisition of number-agreement marking by English-speaking learners of Arabic (ELAs). This study will specifically discuss the distance effect on number agreement in Arabic. Establishing a relation between a noun and its modifiers is paramount in language comprehension and production. ELAs have shown variability in the comprehension of number agreement; however, the causes of this variability remain inadequately comprehended.
