The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 resulted in an estimated $1.8 billion revenue loss for international education exports due to border closures denying overseas students entry. Australian universities should diversify their student base by investing into alternative markets such as South East Asia, and developing strategies that can offset the shift.
Thailand is a key recruitment market in South East Asia for Australian universities, and further growth is forecasted. This study aims to provide evidence-based research insights and recommendations to optimise recruitment in Thailand.
