Whilst the interpersonal aspects of project management are increasingly recognised as critical to project delivery, there is very limited discussion on empathy in project work. This is concerning given that empathy is associated with both prosocial and antisocial behaviour. This exploratory study will draw on arts-based methods and interview a variety of project stakeholders (from sponsors, to end-user, to project managers) to increase understanding of the factors influencing and effects of empathy in project work.
