This study will be undertaken on Quandamooka Sea Country walking with the traditional Elders to explore how non-Indigenous teachers’ cultural understandings can be explored and supported through the arts and professional learning on country. Participatory action research (PAR) which allows the researcher and participants to collaborate, communicate and self-reflect through four phases will be utilised in this study. The recommendations will seek to support non-Indigenous educators who are teaching on Quandamooka Country to understand that Quandamooka nation learning and cultural knowledge can never be ascribed to other First Nations who have their own histories and knowledges, thereby supporting the cultural education of the next generation of young Australians.
