In 2021, USQ will offer one Neil Rowlings Memorial Bursary to support one student commencing their studies in a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Theatre, Music or Visual Arts).
The Neil Rowlings Memorial Bursary remembers a distinguished member of the professional staff of the University’s School of Communications and the Arts for 15 years, from 1983-1998. He grew up on a farm in Inglewood district and went on to farm tobacco and stone fruit before moving to Toowoomba where he continued his love of farming, growing vegetables on his 10 acre farm at Middle Ridge. He enjoyed a lifelong interest in Music, was an accomplished saxophone player and a keen tennis player. In his work as a Technical Officer at the DDIAE and USQ, he supported students studying in the performing and visual arts and in music.
