In 2021, USQ will offer a number of USQ Equity Scholarships to support students experiencing financial hardship, who are commencing or continuing their studies in an undergraduate program at USQ.
The funding provided for this scholarship aims to ensure that Australians from low SES backgrounds, regional and remote areas of Australia and Indigenous student who have the ability to study at university the opportunity to do so. It allows universities to undertake activities and implement strategies to improve access to undergraduate courses for these groups, as well as improving the retention and completion rates of those students.
Each scholarship is for a maximum of three semesters (Semesters 1, 2 and 3 2021) and will be paid per semester based on enrolment and subject to ongoing eligibility.
The scholarship will open again for applications in Semester 2 2021 for those students who did not apply or who did not receive the scholarship in the previous semester. Students who received the scholarship in Semester 1 2021 do not need to reapply.
Payment in Semester 3 2021 is based on being awarded the scholarship in either Semester 1 2021 or Semester 2 2021, as the scholarship will not open for applications in Semester 3 2021.
Please note: If your application for a USQ Equity Scholarship is successful, the funds will not be paid until approximately four weeks after the first census date in each semester.
If you are relying on a scholarship to purchase textbooks and resources, you may consider applying for an interest free Student Financial Loan. Please refer to the Student Financial Loan webpage for more information and application forms.
