Want to learn a second language?
With no previous experience required, the Bachelor of Social Science (Social Science and Language and Culture) is the ideal degree. With the opportunity to study either German or Mandarin Chinese, this degree uses the experience of language learning as a gateway to the broader study of history, politics, culture, traditions, customs and national identities. You'll gain competency in both language and cultural knowledge and will be encouraged to acquire cross-cultural awareness, preparing you for the possibility of life or study abroad.
The study of language and culture will equip you for a variety of careers, including international business, trade and diplomatic services, journalism, arts and the creative professions and teaching abroad. It is also the ideal preparation for overseas professional placements or exchanges in fields such as business, engineering, sciences and information technology.

You may not have to pay your course (subject) fees upfront. HECS-HELP and FEE-HELP allows you to defer your fees until your income reaches a certain level.

English Language Requirements
You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements. This program requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.
