Taste-test university studies

Do you want to try-out university study but not sure where to start? USQ’s Diploma of Arts will let you sample and see if you want to continue on to a bachelor’s degree. Personalise your diploma by choosing courses that interest you. Perhaps it is Journalism, Anthropology, Biology, History, Marketing, Tourism Management, Visual Arts or Engineering that you want to study.

Upgrade your knowledge

Do you have the necessary subject knowledge to meet the entry requirements for your chosen degree? If not, upgrade your knowledge of subjects such as Biology, Physical Sciences or Human Physiology with USQ’s Diploma of Arts.

Take your study to the next level

Enjoy your studies? You can go on to other USQ degrees such as USQ Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Communication or Bachelor of Business and transfer some or all your credit from your Diploma of Arts study.

Residential schools

In addition to the courses listed below, external students will also have the opportunity to come on-campus for residential schools where you will attend face-to-face lectures and tutorials, use the facilities and meet staff and other students.

Loan to help you pay your fees

You may not have to pay your course (subject) fees upfront. HECS-HELP and FEE-HELP allows you to defer your fees until your income reaches a certain level.

You may also be eligible to receive financial support from Centrelink.

You may be able to apply for scholarships to help with your study costs.

  • Subject pre-requisite: English (4, SA) or equivalent

English Language Requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements. This program requires a minimum of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.

If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Applying directly to USQ:

  • Semester 3, 2017 - applications close Monday 6 November, with semester 3 commencing on Monday 13 November 2017.
  • Semester 1, 2018 - applications close Monday 19 February, with semester 1 commencing on Monday 26 February 2018.
  • Semester 2, 2018 - applications close Monday 2 July, with semester 2 commencing on Monday 16 July.

Credit for previous study or work experience

You may be eligible for credit if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.
