Special Education

Special Education postgraduate degrees at USQ are designed for teachers to build the specialist skills required to work within education settings facilitating the inclusion of all learners, particularly those with disabilities and additional learning needs.

Our degrees are for those seeking to work more effectively as a special education, learning support teacher or in a related leadership role.  You will develop the skills required to enhance roles in a range of specialised contexts applying contemporary, evidence-based teachings. Additionally, you will learn to develop and implement individualised programs for students with diverse learning needs, or working directly with individuals, small groups, or a classroom of students.

Career outcomes include opportunities within special and inclusive education. Positions may also be pursued within the disability sector, training sector, human services and community-based government organisations.
