Aiming for a career in construction?
USQ’s construction major in the Foundation Diploma of University Studies provides you with general knowledge to get you ready for university study as well as develop your understanding of construction management, engineering and the built environment.
You will strengthen your skills in problem solving and mathematics and also be provided the opportunity to delve deeper into methods, application and design to broaden your knowledge of construction work.
As a graduate of this program, you will be eligible to apply for direct entry into selected USQ undergraduate construction degrees. If you choose to go on to further studies some subjects that you choose could also count as credit toward your undergraduate degree.
As a foundation diploma graduate, you will be provided with general knowledge in preparation for a career in a number of areas within the construction industry. Additional study within this field can further develop your skills and career opportunities.

Loan to help you pay your fees
You may not have to pay your course (subject) fees upfront. HECS-HELP and FEE-HELP allows you to defer your fees until your income reaches a certain level.
You may also be eligible to receive financial support from Centrelink.

You may be able to apply for scholarships to help with your study costs.

English Language Requirements
You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements. This program requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Note: You will also need to complete online tests in mathematics, e-literacy, and English communication skills to assist staff in determining your level of reading comprehension, written expression, and mathematical understanding. Complete the Diagnostic exercises and email them to email@example.com to commence your USQ journey.
Applying directly to USQ:
- Semester 2, 2017 - applications close Monday 3 July, with Semester 2 commencing on 10 July 2017.
- Semester 1, 2018 - applications close Monday 19 February, with Semester 1 commencing on 26 February 2018.
