  • As a graduate of the Graduate Certificate of Education (Educational Leadership) who is an existing or aspiring educational leader, you will be well prepared to apply for the next level of promotion in schools and universities, as well as government, community and corporate settings, which have an educational focus.
  • During your studies you will enhance your knowledge of leadership and management issues in contemporary educational settings.
  • You will strengthen your education management skills whilst gaining the knowledge to create innovative solutions to current educational leadership and management issues.
  • This specialisation does not qualify you for teacher registration in Queensland. You can qualify for teacher registration in Queensland with the Master of Learning and Teaching (Early Years), Master of Learning and Teaching (Primary) or Master of Learning and Teaching (Secondary).

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

If you have previously studied in your home country, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.
