Are you a health professional who has a passion for working with older people in a variety of settings? At USQ we offer the Graduate Certificate of Health (Gerontology) for health professionals working in this field. Designed to help you develop knowledge and expertise in healthy ageing, the program focuses on preventive and holistic care strategies that encourage wellness of the older person. USQ offers one of the only intensive postgraduate face-to-face gerontology workshops in Australia.
Developed to meet the future direction of aged care within Australia, and with an ageing population, you will be well prepared for the future of the aged care industry. As a graduate of the Graduate Certificate of Health (Gerontology) you will gain specialist knowledge to enable you to undertake clinical decisions, explore management structures essential to the delivery of quality care and implement holistic practices related to the ongoing wellness of the older person across a wide spectrum of clinical settings including residential aged care and community.

Loan to help you pay your fees
You may not have to pay your course (subject) fees upfront. FEE-HELP allows you to defer your fees until your income reaches a certain level.
You may also be eligible to receive financial support from Centrelink.
Scholarships and financial assistance
You may be able to apply for scholarships to help with your study costs.
- Completed a 3-year bachelor degree in a health-related field from an Australian or internationally recognised university, or equivalent. or
- Completed a minimum of one (1) years' professional work experience equivalent to a qualification at AQF Level 8.
English Language Requirements
You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements. This program requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Applying directly to USQ:
- Semester 1, 2018 - applications close Monday 19 February, with semester 1 commencing on Monday 26 February 2018.
- Semester 2, 2018 - applications close Monday 2 July, with semester 2 commencing on Monday 16 July 2018.
