Overview

  • Discover the capability and limitations of human performance and build on your pre-existing industry knowledge with USQ's Graduate Diploma of Aviation (Aviation Human Factors).
  • Learn to manage complex operations within the aviation system, whilst maintaining both safety and efficiency through the optimisation of the human performance elements within that system.
  • Explore aviation human factors to become an effective human factors manager, an effective non-technical skills facilitator, or an effective operational manager across a range of specialist areas within the aviation industry.

After you complete the Graduate Diploma of Aviation, you will have the option to take the credit from your studies and go on to complete the Master of Aviation (Aviation Human Factors).

Entry requirements

  • Completion of an Australian university Bachelor degree in the area of aviation, management and/or psychology, or equivalent.

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

If you have previously studied in your home country, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

Degree structure

To complete this degree students must complete 8 units. Most courses (similar to ‘subjects’) are valued at 1 unit. To study full-time you would usually complete 4 units per semester.

Students must complete five core courses and three specialisation courses from the Aviation Human Factors specialisation within the Master of Aviation.
