About the Workshop
To begin, with the aid of demonstrations, non-representative images will be made allowing a sense of freedom to develop.
And then in reference to the figure, still life, and other images, photographs etc, distortion will be encouraged. This could involve taking a line for a walk, using the imagination, taking risks and employing expressive use of colour.
Many techniques will be demonstrated; drawing, acrylic painting, collaging, glazing, splashing, dripping, scraping and so on. Cartridge paper, canvases or boards may be used.
Many pieces will be worked on at once, they could vary in colour, size and speed of development. Theatrical expressionism, glowing impressionism or peaceful slowly worked paintings could all happen.
