About the Workshop

In the process of making a series of at least three pieces of jewellery, students will learn the ancient Korean technique of bonding 24 carat gold to silver called Keum-Boo.

The technical skills that will be taught include making jewellery with multiple solder joins, applying 24ct gold to your jewellery by the Keum Boo process, and creating three-dimensional hollow forms in metal.

We will explore the use of Haiku as a design base, and how to capture feeling and mood in your jewellery. Haiku is an ancient form of Japanese poetry.
