The Biomedical and Medical Laboratory Science One Day Experience is designed for students in year 9 through to year 11.
Places are limited to 40 students per day where students will have a taste of what it is like to be a medical laboratory scientist. They will enjoy hands on activities in our science laboratories learning about the genetics and biology of heritable diseases of the blood system. They will examine blood slides and perform molecular biology techniques to investigate a diagnosis of sickle cell anaemia in a family after their newborn baby has started to show debilitating signs of sickle cell disease.
