Providing a helping hand for Australia-bound Chinese university students
USQ has been offering quality online programs for more than 40 years. We are providing an online study option for all Chinese students affected by travel restrictions. If you are a new commencing student or a currently enrolled student at USQ or any other Australian university, USQ is available to assist you during this challenging time.

Online program with 25% fee reduction scholarship
Tuition fees for USQ online courses are already lower than their on-campus counterparts. We offer a further 25% Fee Scholarship to all affected Chinese students studying online in China for Semester 1, 2020 (terms and conditions apply).

Leave of Absence
Chinese students who are impacted by the novel coronavirus will be eligible to apply for a leave of absence on compassionate and compelling circumstances
If you wish to apply for a leave of absence must complete a Leave of Absence Form - International form and provide supporting documentation in accordance with the assessment of Compassionate and Compelling Circumstances Procedure.
Please submit the form and your supporting documentation to: is.support@usq.edu.au for your application to be assessed.

To defer your start date you can contact the USQ International Admissions staff.

Additional options for online study mode
Affected USQ students who study online can transfer to on-campus study as soon as the travel restrictions are removed.
Affected students from other Australian universities can return to their originally enrolled universities to continue study in Semester 2, 2020.

Applications to study USQ degrees require a recognised previous academic qualification. Find your degree and check the minimum entry requirements. 

Before you start your studies at USQ, you will need to provide evidence of your English language proficiency. We accept a variety of English language tests and have provisions for specified and approved exemptions.

If you do not meet the level required, we also offer English language programs to help you achieve your study goals and meet the English language requirements.

As an international student, you may be eligible to study and live in Australia on a student visa. Once your student visa has been issued, it will be valid for the duration of your study.

Can I work while I study?

Australian Government student visa conditions allow student visa holders to work up to 40 hours each fortnight. To find out if you are eligible, and the conditions of a student visa, check with the Department of Home Affairs.

Can I stay in Australia after I finish studying?

Upon graduation, and depending on your qualification, you may be eligible for a temporary graduate visa that will allow you to work in Australia for 2-4 years.
